Chicago Pickling
Cucumber (Cucumis sativus)
Very similar to the Snows fancy pickling cucumber this
plant
produces good yields of 5" long by 1 ½" wide pickling type

for salads too. Pick the fruits as soon as large enough to encourage more
fruiting. They are very prolific and will produce all summer long for
regular pickling sessions.

full sun when soil temps are at least 70F . Requires
fertile soil in a well drained location in the garden.
Sow about 1 inch
to 1 ½ inches deep. Plant in rows 5 to 6 feet apart or in hills spaced 3
to 5 feet. Thin hills to 2 or 3 plants each. Plants will grow to 18 - 24
inches tall and spread to an average of 2 feet. The
soil should be continuously moist. Water well during dry and hot spells.
